Shannon Gunter a native of Baltimore City has been studying classical piano since nine years of age. Under the direction of Irena Landes from the Peabody Preparatory, Shannon's love of music began to flourish. As Shannon grew older, Lyubov Fomil from the Park School began to teach young Shannon. The music inside of Shannon increased to an all time high. Shannon has received many awards, citations, certificates, and accolades from various city officials including Elijah Cummings, Kweise Mfume, Ralph Hughes, and Kurt Schmoke. Also, Shannon has received certificates of merit from many fraternities and sororities as well as silver and bronze medals from the Act-So competitions. Shannon Gunter is presently a senior attending Coppin State University and is persuing a Bachelor of Science in Urban Arts: concentration in Music Degree. Shannon plans to attend The Kodaly Music Institute of Loyola University where she will obtain a Master's in Music Education Degree.
